Taiping

Taiping in Mandarin means "peace". And that exactly describes Taiping.

It's a quiet kind of peace that when you are there, instantly you feel more relaxed. I am serious. There are trees, trees, trees, trees everywhere! And it's such a big contrast to busy Penang or Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya.

This is not Taiping. Taiping has no beach...this is a busy beach in Penang.

Even during Chinese New Year, there were not many hoorahs (except at the hawker center during night time) but it's so serene, especially with Maxwell Hill overlooking the small town.

One of Taiping's Park streets...TREES!

and more trees!

The tree branches would gradually grow over the street, giving the streets like a natual arch, and the end of those branches would reach over for Taiping Lake...words just cannot describe the small town wonder...besides, Taiping is quite clean...(except hawker center)

I hope that Taiping will forever be as peaceful as it is now. No crazy development or whatever...stay that way, Taiping!

Something unrelated: I watched Without A Trace today and guess what they said that makes me feel like punching the scriptwriter? "Jacob and Rebecca was married in the book of Genesis..." ......What the..?!
