Sigh...so smooth. His vocals I mean.

song from his latest album: love is...

Anywayz. I'm rewriting my mystery novel. A little less realistic and a bit more American. I mean...I'm rewriting it again, cause the last time I tried to write again...I got writer's block, cause I wasn't sure what's the ending. Haha..

Sangat Ber-china

I know, sometimes people might not even know that I can speak Chinese or read, much less write them. So when I posted some of my written works up, some probably like, "Eh, you know Chinese?"...

Err..yeah. I'm a Chinese after all, Malaysian or not. I believe that every race should learn their mother tongue, though not necessarily to writing and reading, but at least know how to speak. Cause though I don't always support Chinese language (remember those Chinese school days? Oh my gosh, you could get nightmares...)

Yeah, it's that bad.

But I must say something I love about my Chinese culture:

The art. Whether it be music or martial arts or art art art...I love them all. Okay, maybe not so much of martial arts...but hey, it's the one point that made Americans wish that they could be Chinese.

Don't call me a Chinese patriot or whatever cause I'm not. I do love Malaysia very much, except the ridiculous things they do sometimes. That doesn't mean I'm not a Malaysian patriot. There's definitely always something to gripe about regardless which country you're in.

But yes, I love the Chinese art. I love restringed violins and cellos (replacing the normal strings with silk strings that Chinese musical instruments uses). I love the old fashion. I love the flying they sometimes do. I love their bamboo forests...I love their movies (not those old Shaw productions. That tickles me annoyingly.)...I love their stringed instruments....

The only art that I don't really like about Chinese art is calligraphy. Maybe it's because I never was good at it.

Bah.

Somebody please give the Hero soundtrack to me.

Match Girl

Up another one. Very interesting way of saying about the Little Match Girl story.

Give you a little snippet.

(As opposed to my previous songwriting entries, I place the simplified Chinese version. Not everyone know how to read traditional Chinese. :) )

RT:
O Little Match Girl
The light you lighted was only for a moment
But you treasured that moment
To reach your dreams and wishes
O Little Match Girl
The momentary light caused you not to shed tears anymore
Only when we lost something we understand the importance of it

To quote "Big Yellow Taxi": But you don't know what you've got till it's gone

So you might know where I got my inspiration from lah. :)

Heartfelt

Been thinking of fantastic ideas lately. My lecturer had told us to expand our minds to the farthest limit.

After reading a screenwriting textbook by Ray Frensham, I am inspired to restart my writer's journey.

Some of you might say I don't write well. For those who has complimented about my songwriting skills, thanks! Don't get that everyday.

Anywayz. Of course ideas can just be an idea without "legs". Therefore, sometimes I am in all earnest to write a story, but then the story stuck and stales. It is quite hard to deal with all these. No?

I find solace in writing songs, I find better talent in writing them. Maybe because I am fond of writing poetry. With my Mandarin below average, I am flipping through dictionaries to find out which word fits best. :)

Whatever it is, everything written should come with research. Without research, ideas are very hard to grow its "legs".

Of course I don't say my writing skills are great. In fact, I believe in this post you can already find grammatical errors. But can I say, "Heck, this is an unprofessional blog. It'd be worse in Mandarin."?

I try my best. Though with time constraints now with the study load getting heavier (yeah, I get to watch the telly for homework and watch movies for assignments. No kidding.) and the piling up of my tutorials that never seemed to end...with an impending Final Year Project that apparently is going to start in my Level 2 Semester 3...I hope I don't stop writing, but I definitely will be writing less personal interest and more academical requirements.

Oh well. What's a student to do? So be thankful for the holidays you can get, you primary and secondary schoolers!

Hahaha.I sounded as if I am already working.

So what shall I do when I grow up???

This song was written during my holidays. It's one of my earlier songs and one of my proudest achievements cause I could have the tune to it...well, almost. It's not a love song. It still requires some editing from time to time, but it's a song inspired by the world.

Rough translation:
Living in this world
Flipping through the papers
We can read about disheartened hearts
People's sorrow and hate

The hate that passed down from generation to generation
When are we going to have
A beautiful peaceful world
Love seems to lost its significance

Is there forgiveness?
Is there love (agape)?
Is there hope?

We turned our palms into tightened fists
We harden our hearts, unable to accept each other's differences and opinions
The wrong person should be given tooth for tooth
Grace and mercy seemed more like a joke

Our fists cannot contain anything
Bitterness and hate will only destroy (burn) us from within
It's only by opening our hands that we can find
The freedom and love once lost

Our fists cannot contain anything
Bitterness and hate will only destroy us from within
It's only by opening our hands that we can understand
Love, grace and mercy is the most beautiful

Only by opening our hands you and I can feel
True love's beautiful release

Yeah, there's glitches in grammar. Oh well.

Just last night I had voiced my questions at Him.

I had been honest with Him.

And I felt like a total failure at times.

And I felt so confused.

One day without Him is like one day without breathing.

There's something in me that cries out..."Please go and talk to Him!"

And so today, I talk to You.

In a song.

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Friends Forever

You know how we always have graduation songs? And people are getting sick of singing them? Haha...yes. The English famous graduation song would be Graduation Song by Vitamin C or Auld Lang Syne. For the Chinese songs, there are many!

And I just contributed to them.

无聊 (bored/menial)... the song title is Friends Forever

Friends forever
Forever friends
See you again
My friend

It's a fairly simple song. So not much to elaborate here. :)

Update:
Forgot to add in the translations..

Waving hands
Say goodbye
The time for separation draws near
Looking back
Don't cry
Hope to meet again

Goodbye my friend
Goodbye my mates
Hope that mankind prospers long
That all sees the same moon
The graduation bell rings
But it cannot break our friendship
There is always breaking up and reunion
That's why we say "see you again"

Then this part is English...takkan I need to translate that?

Monday

A Trip

On Friday, my coursemates and I along with my lecturer went into central Kuala Lumpur to just look at architectures and learn a little of art history.

(You might be asking: Wait a minute, aren't you doing media? Why art history? But I'm learning art history because to understand how to use art, you must understand how art came to be.)

So we started at Central Market...

It's actually quite interesting to see the old buildings in KL. Usually we don't look up and ponder upon its architecture, its art nouveau curves and its art deco defined lines.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Old building for sale...!

This is one of the old buildings across Central Market. Very classic.

Apparently these old buildings can last forever because ... they are made to last forever. Rather than building for building's sake, which results in issues that had arose like THAT issue.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Not very appealing colors. No? This isn't painted during 1914.

This building is even dated back to 1914. Pretty pre-independence and yet sturdy.

The tenants of these old buildings takes up the most interesting businesses. There are banks, Indian restaurants, pharmacies...heck, even the fast food franchise chain.

You can't run away from McDs.

After running into a burst of art decos and art nouveau, we headed down to Dataran Merdeka and then later to lunch...while we passed by this very ...erm... interesting water fountain.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
One actually felt that this thing would come alive at night and gobble people up.

Backtrack a little.

After leaving Central Market, we actually went over to the Rapid KL (LRT) Pasar Seni station for some sightseeing along the river.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It's really some cool art with very deep underlying meanings.

It's a pretty sight though unorthodox to find graffiti art along one stretch of the riverbank wall. And we spotted this very interesting and familiar looking figure. No, it's not the present PM.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Optimus Prime: A necessary sacrifice to bring peace to this planet. We cannot let the humans pay for our mistakes. It's been an honor serving with you all. Autobots, ROLL OUT!

So then we went off for lunch at the Bird Park. And I managed to capture a Sarawakian.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
You think who I was talking bout? Kenny Sia meh?

These birds aren't afraid of people. They would actually fly to the balcony and if you happen to sit at the tables in the balcony. Well...be thankful if they didn't take your food. (No, we sat inside. It is a hot day after all.)

(Note to food fans: Hornbill Restaurant in Bird Park is quite a delight to sit in, not necessarily a delight to savor. Choose chef's pick. And if you like pork in your Chinese cuisine [lard, meat, whatever], don't try the Chinese dishes.)

And then we went to the most unimaginable place but important place: the national museum.

Before killing time to go inside and look at mannequins in traditional costumes and fake hair, we went to look at the mosaic mural outside...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
You do know there is a mural right?

There are two sides of the mural. One side is a depiction of Malaysian history.

The other is a depiction of traditional Malayan art, culture and living.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Look...wayang kulit.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Very strong meaning to this.

We went inside...looked around and found this very interesting name for a hat.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Be careful! If someone should wear a hat with this name...

Before our last stop, we actually stopped by at the national mosque and the Islamic Art Centre. The IAC was closed for Raya celebrations. So, there was nothing much.

Our last stop was at Tugu Kebangsaan or the national memorial.

Very interesting.

The full names of the warriors that died for the country. Respect.

Huge in real life.

Did you know that the monument is made out of iron? Yup. And it's pretty big and very real.

And then we took a picture.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

As a memory of my day as I spent my last hour before going back home was to sit in the kids department in Parkson KLCC and resting my sore legs. I felt like I was walking in jelly-o already.

Always The Tagging

The rules laid out are:
1. Put your iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on Shuffle mode.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Write any comments you have after the song name.
5. Tag everyone who’s linked to your blog (those reading this entry included too!) and get them to tell you when they’ve done theirs, so you can both laugh at each other’s “misfortunes” or “coincidences”! =D

(I'm using all the Chinese + Korean + Japanese songs in my WMP, cause I put all the Christian songs in iTunes. Yup, very organised. And I didn't add in the English songs.)

This is one of my new favorite songs from Tank. It's a pretty old song, but it's really a nice song. Tank can write great songs. :)

Love Party

This is written in a spur of the moment...it's a kinda kiddish song...when people are madly in love that time...so may have some changes in the future..but this is my first draft. :)

Party

Baby give give me a kiss
Baby dance dance dance with me

Singing
Baby I I I love you
Baby do you you love me

Baby give give me a kiss
Baby dance dance dance with me

Singing
Baby I I I love you
Baby do you you love me

Baby give give me a kiss

Baby give give me a kiss
Baby I I need your love

You will always be my baby
It’s a beautiful beginning

Rough translation:
Baby I love you
Baby do you love me
We're celebrating the season of love
We'll set the agenda
Baby give me a kiss
Baby dance with me
Holding hands, let us welcome
Love's exciting party

That costume party
You dressed up as Romeo
What a coincidence
I had dressed up as your Juliet

You took me to the dancing hall
What a coincidence
They are playing our song

Singing
Baby I love you
Baby do you love me
We're celebrating the season of love
We'll set the agenda
Baby give me a kiss
Baby dance with me
Holding hands, let us welcome
Love's exciting party

You made me wait for a long time
Of course I'm pretty angry
What a coincidence
Your smile melt my anger away

You ask me to close my eyes
You said you have a surprise
What a coincidence
I heard that guitar sound playing

Singing
Baby I love you
Baby do you love me
We're celebrating the season of love
We'll set the agenda
Baby give me a kiss
Baby dance with me
Holding hands, let us welcome
Love's exciting party

When we fought
I was very afraid as I cried
Afraid that you won't take my hand
Afraid that you will ignore me
You saw my tears
And you picked up your guitar
Playing our song for me

You're singing
Baby I love you
Baby don't cry
I will always hold your hand
I will always sing to you

Baby I love you
Baby we will always be
We will celebrate this season of love
We will decide the present path we will take
Baby give me a kiss
Baby I need your love
Let us welcome as we hold hands
Our love's evidence

You will always be my baby
It's a beautiful beginning

-end.-

I know, it's a little surreal and cutesy lame-o whatever...but I pretty like this song. If someone should sing this song...I would choose either Rainie Yang or Cyndi Wang or even the Blackie's Teenage Club (黑澀會美眉) girls because of their cute personalities. Looks good on MV. HAHA...see. I always think about the MV.

Wednesday

Debt

Regarding my last post...NO, it's not my crush/admirer. Yes, it's a guy. No, he's not taken. (I think). And yes, we are just friends who weren't talking for a while. Not my fault.

I owe someone something.

It's pretty serious.

It causes me to lose sleep...

Wait.

It made me more sleepy.

Yeah, I got this "medical condition" called sleep debt.

Basically I haven't been sleeping regularly and I owe myself 2 weeks of 8 hours sleep.

Yup, my body still having jet lag. From the holidays.

It's this sleep debt that makes me lazy to implement any operations of mine.

And makes me lazy to go exercise...I could just fall asleep at the treadmill!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And it makes me drive faster...cause I want to come home and sleep!

So this is a teenager young adult syndrome...too much work and no play sleep.

The doctor Internet says that I should get 2 weeks worth of 8 hours sleep per day.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Howlah...

(okay, so my drawing sucks.)

Monday

Sweet

He saw me.

I just looked at him and then look away but I smiled.

Then I chided myself for not taking the first step to say hi loudly.

I still believe in guys should take initiative.

I thought I just missed another opportunity.

We bumped into each other again.

I chided myself again for not saying hi louder.

I caught him looking my way again and again.

Maybe I'm being perasaan.

*laughs

I'm just very happy that we are on speaking terms again. I thought this friendship couldn't be saved anymore.

So, patience is a virtue! It does help fix friendships and relationships!

No, it's not a crush or an admirer of mine. It's just a good friend. Don't think so far okay?
