Wednesday

400

Will be having exams next week. Then it's off for two weeks. And then a whole new semester starts again. Can't wait for that 4 months break to do something else other than study.

Wait. I am still studying then...Mandarin!

I hope to finish my script by end of this year. Yes, and then I will officially redraft it and then we'll see whether it will be accepted by producers...if it does, then I am free!

Eh..hem.

I mean, I will be quite elated. But of course that is just a figment of my dreamy imagination. But let's just cross our fingers and hope now, shall we not?

I already have a story idea. Vague still, but I shall attempt to write melodramas without it becoming too soap-opera-ish. The genres are: melodrama, family and romance.

Ooh, very melo indeed.

Haha, who am I kidding? I am already racking my brains out to think of comedic lines...

Such are the dilemmas of scriptwriters...

...but I love it!

And thus end the 400th post. Before that...

Just to share with you all the nice sunset I took the other day from my house balcony...see, I get to see sunsets almost everyday. Hehe...

Photobucket

Photobucket

And this is where I get my inspiration for my new story...yup, just by these posters.

Photobucket
from Sad Story (2005)

Photobucket
from Sad Story (2005)

Photobucket
from Last Present (2007)

Photobucket
from Humming (2007)

Photobucket
from A Moment To Remember (2004)

Photobucket
from Love Me Not (2006)

Why Korean movies? They have the best melodramas. Especially Sad Story's poster have the most impact...because though they are crying, at the same time, they are also smiling. Call it bittersweet. I took Humming because at first I thought Han Ji-Hye was also crying and smiling at the same time...but it was a mistake...don't know why I thought she had teary eyes...

But of course I have to study first and then finish my first story lerrr....

Really end.

This Year...

Just went through the list of movies that Golden Screen Cinemas will be showing (most probably) for the next few months.

There are some quite interesting and anticipating movies...

Or not.

As for me, it's quite silly to say I can be the judge of what's good to watch. My motto:

Got money, time, a strong constitution and a very empty bladder, watch all that attracts.

Shall take on a lame approach, if I may correctly do so. Some people do this better than I. Me. I mean...let's spread a little season cheer, shall we not? I mean...Thaipusam cheer. I mean, exam cheer....asdaksfugohwdalsbckjbv..*pfft

Good afternoon, this is CJ Bibimbap as your host.

Hungry for a bibimbap movie this year? Well, this is what CJ Bibimbap might want to watch thinks.

Through this year, we are done with all the trilogies and second sequels (thank goodness!). No more Captain Jack Sparrow for those who find his eyeliner and drunken stupor absolutely overrated, or William Turner for those who find him being Davy Jones is like asking a river trout to swim in the Pacific Ocean. (Go home, Turner!) We, I mean, the Hollywood and Chinawood are back with fourth installments or remakes or simply, sequels.

Stepping right up from the era of Shaolin Soccer, comes Pengerusi Jay with his Kung Fu Dunk. Well, Jay has a knack for basketball, just don't think that he will smile more often than he does on Secret. It'd be cool if he could play piano and the basketball bounces along with each note. Hey, that's an idea. Isn't it? Then it will be Secret Slam Dunk. People who hate Twins, expect Charlene Choi.

watch the extended trailer here.

Then you have CJ7, a creation of Stephen Chow, the king of laughter. I've embedded the trailer before. Xu Jiao is a girl. That makes it all more interesting to watch. Besides, it's Stephen Chow. Who doesn't wait at home for the release on TV go to the cinema and watch Stephen Chow?

March goes a bit slow on movies. If you want something fantasy, which this year and last year promise a lot, then you can go and expect Spiderwick Chronicles. I am not sure about this chronicles and I'm a little arachnophobic. But nevertheless, if you enjoy being wow-ed by daemons in Golden Compass, the winterland of Narnia, the hobbitses of LOTR, I think you should catch this. Bring a net. Or Ridsect for any of that matter. Just don't spray on my face, thank you very much. I don't have eight limbs.

watch the trailer here.

Talking about Narnia, CJ Bibimbap is so excited cause her favorite chronicles are out on screen again! This time following the publishing order of the books, Walden and Disney again presents The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in May 2008! May is a good month.

watch the trailer here.

But I skipped a month.

Let's retract to April. I always find Death Note 2 nicer than Death Note 1 cause the ending was so cliche I find it absolutely delicious. But seriously, second sequels can spoil things. In Death Note 2, we all presumed that L, the genius who adores sweets like that fat boy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (sorry, forgot the name.) is dead while playing chess and drinking sweet tea (which he manages to finish before he dies, now isn't that wonderful.) And the Death Note was nicely burned as so he claims. Well well, what do you know? He isn't dead! Not in the third one. Well, technically he has 23 days to live. (That reminds me of the show 23 by Jim Carrey. Spooky.) So in L's Movie or Death Note 3 or L: Change the World (so many names!), L is back, or rather, still around. And needs to do some last thing before he dies. What's that? Watch and be amazed.

watch L here.

Another fantasy movie in April: The Water Horse. Same fellas who did Narnia. Just one month before. This should be an interesting watch, though I thought I'd be watching seahorses instead. People might just travel to Europe this year, after all. And some less informed might say, "See, I told ya it exist, this Loch Ness 'reature. 'is friendly...and now 'is in d'movies..." Alright, so they don't talk like that. Me no Scot. :P

watch friendly Loch Ness here.

I guess this year's most anticipated movie after Rambo 4 would be Indiana Jones 4. Who wouldn't want to see Harrison Ford does all his "close your eyes", horse jumping, walk on invisible bridge thingie? Besides, that old man is hot. Enough. And Indiana Jones was something people grew up with. It's like Lord of the Rings E.T. People grew up watching these shows and eating M&M Reese's Pieces. (Did that ever appear in Malaysian shores?)

Interestingly, the trailer's not out. But who needs a trailer. It's INDY! *screams while waving cards decorated with LED lights.

June. Expect Jack Black again. No, not in Nacho Libre 2 or School of Rock 2 or School of Metal or The Holiday 2 even. But rather, expect him in black and white. Expect him in a Dreamwork's picture, Kung Fu Panda. I am thinking Powerpuff Girls already.

watch the trailer here.

And if Ang Lee's Hulk was a mess, apparently they are remaking it. The Incredible Hulk is the name, and no, it's not directed by the same guy, but will it deliver the same results? I have yet to see, cause a remake this soon is like asking George Clooney to recast himself as Ocean in Ocean's Eleven The Remake. Or like asking the White Witch to come back to Narnia and this time be more evil and more scared of Aslan. Or asking Jason Bourne to lose his identity again. Or getting Neo to eat the other pill instead. But we shall see. No trailer here. Maybe we are expecting the same thing???

Thus end CJ Bibimbap's nonsense report of this year's movies to watch. Or not.

Thursday

Amnesiac

Isn't it a wonderful time.

Here I am speaking Cantonese, Hokkien, Mandarin, English, Malay, Korean and Japanese all rolled into one. Yes-lah, it's rojak of all rojaks.

Assignments had been pressurizing till I don't have time to go shopping or cut my hair...or, at least I must look for free space in my schedule.

好烂也! (So terrible.)

So I shall take a Sunday off and go chop my hair.

I recently did two interviews for a tutorial. So cool right, I have to do a short video and podcast for tutorials...

So I shall post my video up.

(P/S: Don't be so critical to me lah okay...this is my first time doing video and I didn't know how to do it. And to the two leading actor and lady, sorry I didn't get your name. So if you are a blog reader, do drop a message to say, "Hey, that's me lah." :) For real lah...don't ask me for copyright fee. Hehe. Thanks very much though!)

Happy happy.

Back to assignments.

I actually have many things to say. Honestly, I do. I wanted to say that I forget things easily, especially if once I write it out and times passed.

Wait, what did I say?

Well, there ARE many things I want to do before 2007 ends. One is to go shopping. I desperately want to go shopping. Let me say it again:

I WANT TO GO SHOPPING!

I am desperate.

Another is to chop my hair. I mean, cut. Maybe dye it purple. Haha, just kidding.

I also want to finish at least two assignments before 2007 ends. Honestly, I really do. I don't want to get too stressed up anymore. (Right, I have three more to go.)

Next,

I want to end 2007 with a bang. 2007 has been a cool year for me. Though there are some glitches along the way, but 2007 generally had been good. Especially that this year I am able to grow closer to God (I hope.) and not feel like the glummest person in the world.

아짜! 파이팅! (Fighting! It's actually Pa-i-ting, not Hwaiting...but oh well, who am I to question that??)

So 2007 should end on a great note. I just hope nobody come up to me and 告白 (confess) and totally freak me out. So, you want to freak me out, do it after my exams...or maybe after Chinese New Year...or maybe after my birthday...or at least after I finish my degree...or after my convocation. Or maybe after I buy a Mac laptop. Or maybe after I realise my dream to either become a lyricist and then a singer (hahahaha..yeah right.) or become a screenwriter and then a director. (hahahahaa...even yeah right.)

Now, what else I want to do...

Too many things.

What did I say just now?

Ah, I have many things I want to do before 2007 ends.

Well, for one, I want to go shopping! I'm desperate! I really want to go shopping and buy things! Let me say it again......................................................................................................................................

Saturday

Be A Girl

Last night, or rather this morning, I couldn't sleep. Ended up only sleeping 5 hours starting from 5 in the morning.

Sigh. The things that we do.

Have been frustrated with assignments lately. Kind of stressed but not stress and totally like whatever.

I've added Karen Cheng and she added me to her Facebook! Hahaha...now I got a blog celebrity as a Facebook friend... la la la...

I realised that the blouse that fits me the best (supposedly) is ruffled or anything rouch/ruch at the front or the collar. But that would mean this:

picture from www.kaboodle.com

This means I have to wear feminine stuff....

Not that I cannot pull that style off, but rather....

I do mind wearing these kind of stuff.

Cause I may have to doll up to look like this:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
picture from www.mylittlecloset.com.sg

Imagine me in that...

However, if it's something like this, it's still fine gua...but a little oldish looking.

It's hard to be a girl sometimes.

Okay, at least I can wear the scarf around the head like that and look more feminine and less tomboyish or plain.

Big hoop earrings, here I come!

(Yes, I am quite desperate to get at least 5 new outfits to wear to college. I am in Level 2 after all and after 21, so I must up my wardrobe a bit....)

And there's always the ever stylish and cute looking Jeon Do-Yeon in Lovers In Prague.

I love the 'Lovers' trilogy...though I haven't watch the last installment 'Lovers' yet. But I love 'Lovers in Paris' and 'Lovers in Prague'... 사랑해 사랑해!

Not to mention also 'To Marry A Millionaire' and 'Sweet 18'....사랑해 사랑해!

Yes, I love these dramas. And I so hope to have them as a collection...*hint hint.

Anywayz.

Realise that all these have happy endings...though LIParis was a bit odd, but nevertheless, it's still happy ending. Yay yay yay...

I found out that 제이 (J) sang a single for a horror movie. But the whole song is totally the wrong mood for the show. It's more like for some drama like Hello, God!.

Nevertheless, I like the song. For horror movie or not.

Now me want go shop shop.

Friday

WooHoo

Finally got my copy of TobyMac's Portable Sounds!

I looked everywhere except One Utama for this.

So I went 1U to look for something else a.k.a Love Actually.

To my chagrin, there is nowhere that has Love Actually.

So, fine. I go to MPH first, then I was so elated to see this:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

WooHoo! I forgot about Love Actually for a while and buy this straightaway.

Yay yay...now I got his album....yay yay yay...

But I never got Love Actually though I ran through all the movie shops in 1U. Love Actually seems to be actually...missing. There isn't a single CD/VCD/DVD about Love Actually. There is 'The Holiday' but that's not the show I need to watch for assignments.

Gosh, is it too restricted that they can't sell it?

I couldn't find S'kali also.

What is wrong with all these shops?

This is a cool video of Feelin' So Fly by TobyMac in his new album Portable Sounds. It's done during their tour break.

...You got me feeling so fly
There ain't a day that goes by
A supernatural high
Oh my goodness - people I can't deny....

....time to go groove to his music...woohoo!

Thursday

Making A Movie

I realised that actually this semester isn't so screwed-up after all. Well well, what do you know?

Cause now, the media students are free! ... to do whatever they want, as long they can deliver the end-product.

Yeah, I'm talking about end-product.

I really want to step into the waters of making a short film at about 20 minutes.

But looking at the enormous amount of work and the lack of equipment, cash and skill, I am really unsure if I should do it.

I mean, I have done theater before, writing, directing and producing a 15-minute play. But that is not a one-man show. I had the whole of Upper 6 Seroja to help me.

Now it is to be a one-man show. And it requires more time, energy, money and skill. Cause now I have to write the screenplay, find the actors, set the budget & schedule, direct, make production sets if needed, record sound, compose music, synchronise, edit, integrate and film the whole thing myself.

WOW. That's a lot of work.

Someone please give me RM 10,000 so I can film without killing myself first.

Okay, okay. God will provide. So I don't need to kill myself at all.

So tell me, do you think this is a sane idea? Or am I just totally over my head?

As the good Koreans will say... "미쳤어???!!!!" ("ARE YOU CRAZY??!!!")

Sunday

Sexyback

Now when you think sexy, you think of Justin Timberlake's "Sexyback" song. Well, at least I do.

Couldn't get my mind off after I saw this...

(Picture from http://www.reghardware.co.uk/)

Sexy RED!

Now I think of A-Mei's "Fire".

On another note:

I am roped into performing for Tanglung Festival in uni. Wonder what Chinese song should I sing? No, don't tell me 月亮圆 (round moon).

Yet on another note:

I have a twin! Well, at least there's someone who looks like me.

Tuesday

Part 2...

No, I'm not talking bout Part 2 of Summer Live Concert.

I'm talking Part 2 of my wishlist!

Yup. I told you I was not finished yet.

BTW, I didn't list my CDs in order. Cause truth is, I would want David's Beautiful more than JJ's West Side or Wilber's Around The World...(yes. It's a real "subtle" hint.)

The rest are quite normal stuff lerr...

Guitar Stuff
1. Guitar strings
Not the lingerie G-string. Please. I mean guitar strings as in this.

2. Guitar tuner
It's not that very nice to tune it against the piano..especially at like 12 in the morning.

Accessories
Every girl would want this. So, for those who really have no money to buy me anything but still want to give me something...(oh my gosh. I sound so patronising...tsk.) A pair of earring or necklace or choker would be nice. Thank you oh...:)

Books
1. Mary Higgins Clark & John Grisham
My favorite authors currently are Mary Higgins Clark and John Grisham. I don't mind those bought from Pay Less Books. :P
The books I already have from these two authors are:
MHC: You Belong To Me, Moonlight Becomes You, Daddy's Little Girl, Anastasia Syndrome
JG: The Testament

2. Tintin
If you are aware of famous comics, Tintin should be familiar to your ears, no? Yes. I like Tintin...a lot. I already have....

Tintin in the Land of Soviets
Tintin in America
Cigars of the Pharaoh
The Blue Lotus
The Secret of the Unicorn
Red Rackham's Treasure
The Seven Crystal Balls
Prisoners of the Sun

I think that should be all there is. Oh, of course there is the digital camera that I want. But that could be just too expensive. Hehe. :)

I got expensive taste. So smirk at me.

Wednesday

It's That Time Again...Part 1

I wrote another song yesterday night...or rather, early this morning. Yes, I'm chasing my dream...though it can be quite a futile dream. But as the old Chinese adage says...losing a dream or an ambition is the greatest sorrow.

I know it sounds absolutely crazy to be wanting to get into the Chinese music industry. I don't have a great voice cause it needs training, I don't have a full Chinese background because I only had primary education, and I can't compose a song properly because my theory and sight-reading is absolutely hopeless...

But it's okay. I must be brave and move forward. Like how Wilber Pan sings, not everyone was born holding a microphone.

So, I shall continue to dream...after all, it could just be a phase. Too much of Chinese shows and songs...I so wish for Sherlock Holmes' power of mind detachment sometimes.

Anywayz. It is not why I wrote today.

Interestingly, this is the happiest month yet. One is because I'm having my holidays. Two is because I'm launching another one of my operations. Three is because I'm celebrating my 21st birthday soon!

21 years old worrr....should celebrate, kan?

As all birthday kids have their wishlists, so do I. Of course this is a wishlist. It would be a ball of a time if I could have them. Though any other presents would be fine....Haha. 心机真重!

(This is a full description of the wishlist you find at my sidebar, and also other stuff.)

CDs
1. Hillsong's 2007 album - Savior King
The reason why I want this album...I've always loved Hillsong albums. Can't think of a better reason. Hmph.

2. PlanetShaker's 2006 album - Pick It Up
I don't really like PlanetShakers' loud music and some of their lyrics, but this album is pretty solid, especially with a song like "Beautiful Savior".

3. Any other Christian albums
I listen to many genres in the Christian music industry, like Rock (TobyMac, David Crowder Band), Alternative Rock (Delirious?), Contemporary (Chris Tomlin, Rebecca St. James, Charlie Hall, Nichole Nordeman) and even Praise and Worship (Hillsong, Hillsong United, Passion). And I listen to many artists, some not mentioned in my parentheses. You can check out my Friendster profile for the specifics.

(I will be using Taiwan Chinese a.k.a traditional Chinese characters for the next few album titles and description)

4. Wilber Pan 潘瑋柏 - 反轉地球 Around The World
Wilber Pan just recently turned into one of my really favorite Taiwanese singer, dancer and rapper. He even has his own fashion label if I'm not mistaken. I knew who he was with his first song "My Microphone" (我的麥克風). This is his 2006 album. Really dance-y and have a few love songs which are quite nice. A heartbreak/emo song (機會) is also very very nicely arranged.

5. Lee Hom 王力宏 - 改變自己 Change Me
Lee Hom was the culprit who had me started loving the Chinese language and all things Chinese again. Kind of like one of his songs 落葉歸根 (going back to roots). He is one of the most talented artists around, and he changes his music style every now and then. So explains why his new 2007 album has new stuff. He's even singing in Taiwanese (Hokkien)! If I ever have a chance to work with him, I'd probably freaked. Really.

6. JJ Lin 林俊杰 - 西界 West Side
JJ is also another recent favorite. I used to not like him because he used to sing songs that have lyrics that are either ancient (木乃伊) or futuristic (一千年以後). (I only liked S.H.E's and Lee Hom's songs then. It was still a fresh stage when I stepped back into the Chinese music world.) But loving the Korean language, I started to listen to him when he sang "SarangHaeYo 只對你說" (from his 2006 album, 曹操) so from there I like his songs. He has a great capability of composing songs too, though I didn't remember if he wrote any lyrics. His 2007 album is fresh. Really. Fresh.

7. David Tao 陶喆 - 太美麗 Beautiful
David Tao is probably the second most recent favorite. I have heard his songs before, though haven't really paid attention. However, you can recognize his voice after a while like JJ, Jay Chou and LeeHom's voices. His 2006 album would be really literally, beautiful. He wrote or produced many songs which focuses on love and the beauty of it, rather than focus on heartbreak and whatnots. It was his duet with Jolin Tsai (今天你要嫁給我) that got my attention. David's a person you can call as a producer's producer. He knows what he wants as what artists who have worked with him said. Though I find his drum-playing technique a little off, he is a capable composer as how Lee Hom and JJ are. And he's perfectionist. Like me...ha. SS betul.

8. Fan Wei Qi 范瑋琪 - 我們的紀念日 Our Anniversary/Memorial Day
Fanfan is probably the most recent favorite before David Tao. Her 2006 album packs in solid values. Like David's Beautiful, she also talks much about love. One song is even about her and her boyfriend's (黑人 陳建州) relationship (黑白配). Very short, but very beautiful. I paid less attention to her songs last time compared to David Tao. And I used to mix her up with other artists who have similar names. Besides, she and I have two things in common: the height and the thinness. Bwah...syok sendiri. I finally paid attention to her solid vocal range and songwriting capabilities when I found out that she is 黑人's girlfriend. He was very sweet to her. :)

9. Any other of my favorites. Yay.
Check out my Friendster profile for more of my favorites. Don't give me English albums though. Yes, I love Savage Garden and all, but somehow there's a lack of something in them. Besides, SG already disbanded. So, no latest albums.

I haven't finish yet. Part 2 coming up.

Edit: I already knew Lee Hom with his Western-thick-accent+shocking-falsetto 龍的傳人 then (from his 2000 album 永遠的第一天. He had short hair then. Why did he ever leave it long it's a mystery). It was his "Forever Love" (from the 2005 album 心中的日月. He had back his short hair again. Great!) that caught my attention again. It was his "Forever Love" that made me like all things Chinese again. Sigh. 謝謝你哦, 力宏.

Tuesday

Sunday

Shall Not Envy...But...

It would be nice if I can have a Mac laptop or commonly known as either iBook or PowerBook. I like the notebook/laptop...the desktop a bit odd-looking.

Reason why I like Mac:
1. Design (white/silver keys and so different from other kinds of laptop design)
2. Durable (really! RM6k is worth it! maybe slightly too expensive...)
3. Functions (it has lots and lots of functions to entertain me! Somemore got Microsoft Office.mac, so still can use Word, Excel and PowerPoint all that..)
4. Less annoying stuff (less chance of virus attacking)
5. It has Stickies. I like Stickies...(really great to remind me things!)

Everything is cool about Mac. I feel like getting a Mac chip and just putting it in any other laptop...:( I do want a Mac. But cannot envy...well, I must have permanent use for it also larrrr...if I end up doing design, maybe I will get one...cause Mac is the best design, and its not really heavy since its quite small...

Question:Reason why I started liking Mac?

Answer:After using Christine's and Tim's Mac to type and do stuff...I like Tim's one better though cause its sliverish colour. But Christine's one is also pretty cool.

One big big bummer bout it is that Mac is one of the most expensive computers. Tim got his for RM 6k...if I go Hong Kong, will I get it cheaper there? Tim has GarageBand and other bunch of really cool stuff...and I like the way the programs start magnifying when you move your cursor towards it. For Christine's one, her program icon will start bouncing after I clicked on it.

And besides that, Tim did mentioned that after he started using Mac, he stop using Windows. I guess I can use both, but once you stick to something different, it's better that way...sigh...

Maybe when I get to use my sister's laptop next time, I will download iTunes and use iTunes...

Even the names of the programmes sound so cool.

Sigh, my wishlist...a Mac ibook/PowerBook.

Well, will have to make do with what I have. God has provided me with a working, fast, and efficient Windows. I guess I shouldn't complain so much...ahahaha...if He believes that I can and need to handle a RM6k laptop, I am sure He will bless me with one. No, I'm not taking Him for granted or some Santa Clause. I am just very sure that He knows what's best for me! So, if Mac never comes my way...it will hurt a little, but I must remember that God has the best interest of mine in His heart. Hallelujah!

::Day and night I'll stick with GOD;I've got a good thing going and I'm not letting go::
