Wednesday

This Year...

Just went through the list of movies that Golden Screen Cinemas will be showing (most probably) for the next few months.

There are some quite interesting and anticipating movies...

Or not.

As for me, it's quite silly to say I can be the judge of what's good to watch. My motto:

Got money, time, a strong constitution and a very empty bladder, watch all that attracts.

Shall take on a lame approach, if I may correctly do so. Some people do this better than I. Me. I mean...let's spread a little season cheer, shall we not? I mean...Thaipusam cheer. I mean, exam cheer....asdaksfugohwdalsbckjbv..*pfft

Good afternoon, this is CJ Bibimbap as your host.

Hungry for a bibimbap movie this year? Well, this is what CJ Bibimbap might want to watch thinks.

Through this year, we are done with all the trilogies and second sequels (thank goodness!). No more Captain Jack Sparrow for those who find his eyeliner and drunken stupor absolutely overrated, or William Turner for those who find him being Davy Jones is like asking a river trout to swim in the Pacific Ocean. (Go home, Turner!) We, I mean, the Hollywood and Chinawood are back with fourth installments or remakes or simply, sequels.

Stepping right up from the era of Shaolin Soccer, comes Pengerusi Jay with his Kung Fu Dunk. Well, Jay has a knack for basketball, just don't think that he will smile more often than he does on Secret. It'd be cool if he could play piano and the basketball bounces along with each note. Hey, that's an idea. Isn't it? Then it will be Secret Slam Dunk. People who hate Twins, expect Charlene Choi.

watch the extended trailer here.

Then you have CJ7, a creation of Stephen Chow, the king of laughter. I've embedded the trailer before. Xu Jiao is a girl. That makes it all more interesting to watch. Besides, it's Stephen Chow. Who doesn't wait at home for the release on TV go to the cinema and watch Stephen Chow?

March goes a bit slow on movies. If you want something fantasy, which this year and last year promise a lot, then you can go and expect Spiderwick Chronicles. I am not sure about this chronicles and I'm a little arachnophobic. But nevertheless, if you enjoy being wow-ed by daemons in Golden Compass, the winterland of Narnia, the hobbitses of LOTR, I think you should catch this. Bring a net. Or Ridsect for any of that matter. Just don't spray on my face, thank you very much. I don't have eight limbs.

watch the trailer here.

Talking about Narnia, CJ Bibimbap is so excited cause her favorite chronicles are out on screen again! This time following the publishing order of the books, Walden and Disney again presents The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in May 2008! May is a good month.

watch the trailer here.

But I skipped a month.

Let's retract to April. I always find Death Note 2 nicer than Death Note 1 cause the ending was so cliche I find it absolutely delicious. But seriously, second sequels can spoil things. In Death Note 2, we all presumed that L, the genius who adores sweets like that fat boy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (sorry, forgot the name.) is dead while playing chess and drinking sweet tea (which he manages to finish before he dies, now isn't that wonderful.) And the Death Note was nicely burned as so he claims. Well well, what do you know? He isn't dead! Not in the third one. Well, technically he has 23 days to live. (That reminds me of the show 23 by Jim Carrey. Spooky.) So in L's Movie or Death Note 3 or L: Change the World (so many names!), L is back, or rather, still around. And needs to do some last thing before he dies. What's that? Watch and be amazed.

watch L here.

Another fantasy movie in April: The Water Horse. Same fellas who did Narnia. Just one month before. This should be an interesting watch, though I thought I'd be watching seahorses instead. People might just travel to Europe this year, after all. And some less informed might say, "See, I told ya it exist, this Loch Ness 'reature. 'is friendly...and now 'is in d'movies..." Alright, so they don't talk like that. Me no Scot. :P

watch friendly Loch Ness here.

I guess this year's most anticipated movie after Rambo 4 would be Indiana Jones 4. Who wouldn't want to see Harrison Ford does all his "close your eyes", horse jumping, walk on invisible bridge thingie? Besides, that old man is hot. Enough. And Indiana Jones was something people grew up with. It's like Lord of the Rings E.T. People grew up watching these shows and eating M&M Reese's Pieces. (Did that ever appear in Malaysian shores?)

Interestingly, the trailer's not out. But who needs a trailer. It's INDY! *screams while waving cards decorated with LED lights.

June. Expect Jack Black again. No, not in Nacho Libre 2 or School of Rock 2 or School of Metal or The Holiday 2 even. But rather, expect him in black and white. Expect him in a Dreamwork's picture, Kung Fu Panda. I am thinking Powerpuff Girls already.

watch the trailer here.

And if Ang Lee's Hulk was a mess, apparently they are remaking it. The Incredible Hulk is the name, and no, it's not directed by the same guy, but will it deliver the same results? I have yet to see, cause a remake this soon is like asking George Clooney to recast himself as Ocean in Ocean's Eleven The Remake. Or like asking the White Witch to come back to Narnia and this time be more evil and more scared of Aslan. Or asking Jason Bourne to lose his identity again. Or getting Neo to eat the other pill instead. But we shall see. No trailer here. Maybe we are expecting the same thing???

Thus end CJ Bibimbap's nonsense report of this year's movies to watch. Or not.

Monday

死賴

I am so lazy.

Suppose to study for exams but end up doing tag.

真沒有自制 (so no self control)

And I go steal people's tags all the time. Even when they never tag me. 真無聊. (so nonsense.)

This time I stole the tag from Wei-Li

This is what you should do:

Use the first letter of your name to answer each question.

Must be places, names- Nothing made up.

Can’t use own name for boy/girl’s name question.

If can’t answer, skip to next one.

2. Four Letter Word: Real, Risk, Roar...

3. Street: R Street (yes. you can google it up)

4. Colour: RED!

5. Gifts/Present: REALLY expensive ones.

19. Something you throw away: rubbish. (that's clear.)

20. Something you shout: RUBBISH. (now, that's something.)

Alright. Party's over. Back to really sitting down and study. After regret.

I tag Sherry, you, you, you, you and you. Yes, you. I mean it, you.

And then trackback to me so I can read lah. Don't be so shy. :)

Saturday

Singing

I'm singing again. Officially.

I know it sounds like..."Huh? Since when you are singing unofficially?"

But I am singing again, in a proper setting, in a proper ministry.

Thank you Flare for including me in. It's not hard to adapt back. Though it's different from how XYZ was, but thanks.

Anywayz, don't even know if any Flare members read this blog. Oh well. Just say only lerr.

But I'm glad to sing again. And I didn't crack, I didn't go rusty...maybe because I can't see the crowd. But haha...thank God for His strength and grace.

Was actually sick, so very worried about whether I could sing. But the hour before where I spent time with God was good.

So I'm singing again!

And I really want to go and learn singing. Anyone know a good teacher in the area of PJ? Don't be until like RM200 +++ per lesson or per month lah. I am not working. I don't want to join Malaysian Idol One in a Million or Superstar to get into the training. I mean, I can do that lah. But whether I pass the audition is another thing lah.

I just hope I don't end up as bad as this guys.

REMEMBER THOSE DAYS?

No offense, but seriously.

Tuesday

Immature

I thought that being 21 and older will make you grow mature.

I am wrong.

Yeah, true, it's just a number, but if I give you RM 1 compared to RM 100,000. Which will be of greater significance?

So, no matter what people say, 21 is still a significant number. I believe that adulthood don't start at 16 or 18 or 21. It starts when you take real responsibility and don't act like a child anymore. But being 21 is the time where people don't tell you: "Grow up!" or just shake their heads and say, "You're still young, you'll understand someday."

Being 20 and above is when people expect you to not act like a spoiled brat.

But nobody cares.

So we are still immature from time to time.

I know I am.

Cause I lack wisdom. So I say when I shouldn't say, and not say when I should say. I say wrong things, do wrong things and think I am very smart sometimes.

I still want to be a kid sometimes. I don't like being a grownup. It's burdensome and it involves lots of change.

But when I look at proper, mature adults around me, even young adults who are slightly more mature...I see a different kind of attractiveness they draw people. Yeah, babies got their cuteness and their baby habits to make people go, "Awwww....so cute." Every stage has their own kind of attractiveness. The adult stage too. The things they will say, the things they will do, and how they conduct (I'm talking about proper, mature adults. There are quite a number of immature adults.) is different and makes me want to be like them.

And I compare myself and whoa...I'm really far from that. I may look mature, I may sound sometimes mature, but I find myself totally the opposite.

Nope, part-time work did not polish me much. Nor did Form 6. Though I am grateful I am more or less more mature in someways. Nevertheless, I want to be more mature. At the same time, I don't want to be more mature.

I've said it once, I'll say it again: 人, 永遠都是最矛盾地. (People are always the most contradictory beings.)

I am glad my assignments are quite over...only 7% to go. I just hope for the life of me, that I don't get anymore unexpected surprises.

I do despise group assignments. Who's with me?

Saturday

Again.

Bad habit.

Write another post in the same day.

I just found out that Stephen Chow's new film, CJ7 (not my initials, thank you very much) punya kid character, is actually.

A GIRL.

Yes, I'm slow. NST already talked about this on Wednesday.

I am very slow.

But still.

Photobucket

Did you think after a few glances, she's a girl?

Catch Up

Yesterday was my first time driving on Kesas Highway....going all the way to nearly Klang...Yup.

It's that far.

And I realised that the parking at Taman Sri Muda is so much cheaper. RM 0.40 per hour...compared to PJ's RM 0.60 per hour.

....

What am I talking about?

Chia Pei and I went to Carissa's mom cafe for lunch and just a catch up session. I should have taken a picture of the shop front. Oh well.

The shop is called La Lavender Cafe...so if you ever drop by Public Bank in Taman Sri Muda (after passing by the signboard that says: "Selamat Datang ke Sempadan Daerah Klang" (Welcome to the boundary of Klang district)), it's at the same row...

I'm bad at recommending places.

:P

Anywayz.

The price is quite reasonable and food is nice. All thanks to Carissa's mom who cooked for us...yay yay...she's a great cook. Really. :)

I had

Photobucket

Lamb chop + mint sauce + black pepper sauce. RM 12.90

Carissa had

Photobucket

Salmon steak. RM 15.90...

Chia Pei had beef carbonara....but I didn't take a picture...kind of odd.

I am bad at recommending food. :P

But whatever.

The main thing is not that. I will get the full details about La Lavender Cafe soon and post it properly. Anywayz.

:)

So we three girls, peers, catch up with each other on each other...and it was good just catching up. I got a nice time throwing away my assignments for a while and just enjoy the chat...though driving there was a little worrying, cause I was like "please don't get lost please don't get lost.."

Kept calling myself 바보 (fool) all the way to Chia Pei's aunt's place, because I took the longest road to get there.

But it was good catching up. With the good food, I'm okay already. HAHA.

But being older than 21 is pretty good. I get to go out and meet my friends, socialise a bit. Like on Thursday I went out to Pui Fun's house for Flare's New Year Gathering Party. Flare is my church's Campus Youth Zone's worship team. Yup, I'm officially singing again. :) And I also get to go out with my other friends, my Form-6 friends...all that. But of course, cannot go out too often and neglect my studies lah...kan?

Having a compact camera is good in a sense, now I can take more pictures! Woohoo....

Photobucket

Chia Pei was calling her boyfriend back in Aussie...hehehe.

Yeah, this post is definitely random.

I was thinking of getting jaw surgery some days back. But then, nay. After affect my singing, even worse.

Wednesday

Last Part

Photobucket
There were two shops selling the same thing next to each other in Singapore, near the La Salle Design Institute. But this shop was more popular.

Photobucket
We just ordered the normal fare...

Photobucket
The Tao Foo Fa...quite smooth...nice...not too sweet....

Photobucket
This guy is the one who does all the pastries...I was quite shy to take his picture...the whole shop people looking at me....I was holding a SLR okay...

Photobucket
This two brothers (?) so cool...wear cowboy hat when cooking. Maybe they like the Western outfit or they really like Jay Chou's new album.

Photobucket
picture from ha.xinhuanet.com

Photobucket
This is from Yoshinoya Japan....I mean...Singapore. You can find that restaurant in 1U...and somewhere else. I just know 1U got this shop. Ha.

Quite like duets...this is a duet between A-Mei and a new singer from Taiwan's One Million Star show.....

Sunday

愛 歌姬

I am so going to get this album. I know it was released earlier in September, but after listening to their Yue Ya Wan (which is the video), Faye's voice have really improved. And since I always loved her voice.... and this album's lyrics have quite some solid packed into it...

Woohoo...

Hmm...you can visit Real's blog here and how he spent his Christmas. Hehe.

Jay's new hit song. The lyrics written by Vincent Fang. It's like old Chinese poetry man. Whoa.

Saturday

Walking On...

These few days I've been feeling a little dejected (lose heart). Keep looking for answers, don't know if I should give up my dream.

Sometimes I feel I'm quite silly, having all these dreams, too naive, always feel myself to be impractical.

But then I would be reluctant to let go. So contradictory.

I think for now I will cut down this activity. Cause I am still an university student after all, so need to set example, you know? (cold joke.)

But, God willing and by His grace, I may just return yet! Return to write songs, return to compose!

It's just like Rebecca Tong En sings: Don't worry, I will recover fast.

One last time, I share this chorus with all of thee.

Although dreams can press me forward
Am I being a little too impractical?
Should I stop and give up?
I haven't reach the finish line
I can't just give up halfway
I know, I must fight all the way to the end
Only ask that you (You) give me strength

These few days I have been listening to Tanya Chua and Rebecca Tong En's songs. Quite nice. Solid vocals by Rebecca, sultry voice from Tanya.

Rebecca's "Do They See Jesus In Me"
同恩首張專輯"做自己"

Tanya Chua's "無底洞" (endless hole)
蔡健雅"陌生人"專輯 (stranger)

Thursday

Resolutions

Hope you guys had a great new year start....hopefully you'll have a great year end too!

I've been pondering about what I want to do next time after I graduate. I already have this dream right now to pursue music, not necessarily go and take a music degree. (I need to brush all my practical and theory...whoa.) But maybe get involved in the Chinese music industry. And learn to sing properly like a professional.

Ladeeda...

At the last quarter of 2008, I will be starting my third and final year in university. It's been a journey of understanding, and I hope to end my academic years well. After that, we shall go a-singing and a-songwriting.

I am still a little clueless of what I want to achieve end of 2008. Maybe more sleep and less garbage. Hehe. Though I find my songwriting inspirations always come late at night.

I am eager for change! I hate adapting but I love changes! And I already feel like changing the header image of my blog already. Haha...

As Enoch once said, "So many people have changed." I thank God that we all changed. I changed, I think. Is it for the better I do not know, but I have definitely changed. But of course, I still laugh out loud when I watch comedies...rather, I think I have developed a bad habit of hitting tables when I laugh.

Hmm.

Whatever it is, I hope that 2008 will be a greater year than 2007. 2007 had been great. This year has got to be even more WHOA. A good whoa. A great whoa.

But for does who could not understand a word of Mandarin I've written for the 2nd last post, don't worry. I shall try my very best to write in both languages.

雖然新年的第一天已過了, 但還是想要祝福大家, 希望大家會很享受二零零八年!

Although the new year's day has passed, but still want to bless everyone, hope that you will enjoy 2008!

(p/s: I still think the lovemaking in TKA is just overly done and in the end, not sweet but trifle annoying. To me, those quick pecks are the most romantic and sweetest. But why am I spoiling it. 8TV is not even showing the first season yet. Haha.)

Tuesday

胡思亂想

Photobucket
This is one of the most interesting walls I have seen in my trip down south to Singapore. Look, it's a creative playground! Play-wall, come to that.

Photobucket
This is what I would say, the most photographed Christmas tree in the whole of Orchard road. I think it's just beautiful. So I also join in. Hehe...

Photobucket
At first I thought these gingerbread men are real, huge gingerbread men! But then I realised they were just soft toys...I thought I didn't get a chance to eat my favorite Christmas snack this year, but Enoch and Rachael, bless them, they gave me two gingerbread men in one packet yesterday! One says "Save Me"...I don't know why.

Photobucket
I remember them when I was still very young...

Photobucket
This was when we attended New Creation Church's combined Christmas celebration in Singapore Indoor Stadium. So many people!

Photobucket
I love this picture! So nicely taken. Anywayz. This was after the celebration and I secretly captured the New Creation Church's youths who were all wearing this army green color shirt with style. I wonder if DUMC's youth camp shirt can also be army green? Hehehe...

Photobucket
아이가 참 귀엽군요 ! (What a cute baby!)

Ah, forgot to say:

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO Y'ALL! May 2008 be a greater year than 2007!
