Oxymorons

The world just took another round trip.

As much I like media and stuff like that, I am quite frustrated with it sometimes. Like today, when Nescafe Kick Start came to my campus and was positioning their "salespersons" around, I am dreaded to even walk across the concourse. I had to eat lunch, though, so I HAD to meet someone. She asked me if I was a Malaysian. I should have said I was Singaporean. Or anywhere else. I can't lie about my age though, cause her criteria was 18-25. I can't look THAT old.

I wish I had a camera today. It was all buzz and entertaining because of 3 events happening at one time at one place. It was like really bad planning but it happened so none of them can do anything. But overall, in accordance with the China's National Day & Mooncake Festival, they had lion dance (which so disrupts our class) and one Chinese guy sang Taiwanese songs. I can't blame them really. Singing China's Chinese songs could be quite a difficult task. But the first song he sing is GuangLiang's "Tong Hua" which is Malaysian. And it really made me wanted to go out and join them.

I suddenly felt so Chinese.

Nescafe looked so left-out, other than getting Media Prima's cameraman to come and shoot some scenes and interestingly, it attracted more video cams. But free coffee for everyone and some free camwhore time for one of my coursemates.

There's a Carnival in DUMC on Sats and Sun. Just come around in the afternoon and you will see it. Big banners, balloons and all...quite quite interesting. Unfortunately, I am such a wimp. But let's not go into details of how I'm a wimp.

I had many things to say, funny I don't remember any of them.

Always lah me.

Strange how everyone suddenly stop blogging. My page suddenly feel so...lonely.

I have THREE assignments to complete before my semester ends and two are individual...

Ah, I remember now.

One of the more irritating thing is how my lecturers thinks I'm a "genius". Yeah, yeah, I may know what's X and Y axes, I may know what is incest, I may even know what metrosexuality is, and I may know what's a vector graphic, but that doesn't mean I know EVERYTHING. Yes, I may come from a PJ school with its high academics and that 'happening' school culture and I come from Science Stream, so I know how to act smart but still. Like, heck, what is a "dirty bomb"? Good thing that my Media lecturer is more knowledgeable than me.

Like today, during one of my lectures, my lecturer asked if we had any problem with a software application, he just looked at me and then said, "Ah, you don't have problem one." Just the day before, he thinks I'm already capable with that software when it was my first time using it. Heck, I even bought a book on how to learn that software. Hey, I can't understand scripts. Maybe I should just ask more questions next time and act really stupid. *grin.

I get to go to production studios and look see...isn't that just SO cool?

Some shows are just plain stupid. Even the Three Stooges is better. Like this current show in 8TV, airing at 7.00 pm. That show is about two twin brothers separated from birth and then how they met and how they knew they are brothers and how they fell in love with their dream girls and how their dream girl all died becaue kena murdered by obsessed power freak or just a jealous concubine. It's stupid show...but I watch it because of Dicky Cheung ability to act...definitely better than Nicholas Tse...sings better than him too. Gosh. And somehow I like martial arts drama. It's very very nice to see them all in costumes. :)

But what is even more stupid is their script. In olden days, what they call a new born baby is different from now, but I heard the word "baby" twice mentioned by Nicholas Tse. Either I'm deaf or the scriptwriter or director is blind and deaf. And good grief, Nicholas Tse in the starting of the show was cool, confident and calm, now he looks like he's high on drugs or something. He kept looking somewhere else and he looks just plain confused. That's why Dicky Cheung has a better character, cause he's smart and he still maintains his coolness throughout the whole show even when his wife got murdered by some power sucker.

What's to say, it's a martial arts fantasy, where martial arts, poison, evil power-sucking old goons and a selfish-love-Tse-so-much-to-kill-his-wife-jealous-king's-concubine. And the worst was the recording of the voice. Dubbing was horrible and when one character speaks, it has background noises on his voice, then the other speak without noises. What. One record when driving his car issit?

I'd rather watch 8TV's new show "Realiti". It's not bad a show, kinda like Gol & Gincu but I don't know futsal but I know reality singing shows so it's something more interesting. But they should get more money so to touch up their actors and actresses. I saw Melissa Maureen with a zit on her head during a photo shoot in the show. Just don't add up. She is suppose to be this hot babe with flirty attitudes and she come up with a flawed skin.

I am thinking of a podcast for my assignment. Not literally though, but it'll be cool to have some imaginary podcast around in the campus.

Yeah, uni life rocks...

halfway.

Friday

Then There Was The Idea.

This week I have been sleeping earlier than usual. Usually I can hold on till 2 am in the morning but yesterday, even after a long and sometimes interrupted nap, I still fell asleep fast at earlier than 1 a.m.

But we are not here to talk about my sleeping habits, is it?

Yesterday, I just "entertained" David with my "naiveness" till he got "speechless" till he laughed out so many lines on MSN. Leaving me speechless. If this was some anime or some TV show, I would have been able to have some sign hanging over my head.

Anywayz.

A short update, cause I want to play game.

I lost sleep over a book. Can you believe it?

Yeah, that should explain why I'm not getting enough sleep.

Got CG tonight.

Have to start my assignments. Want to redo my homepage again. So disgusting.

Sigh.

And I went back the next day to the bookstore to exchange my book.

I think I need more boldness to be in college...it's like I'm all so quiet.

Kinda annoyed with myself lately.

I think I should not type so fast next time on MSN...after SOME people thinks I'm gullible again.

Will update more. :)

Intelligence Quotes..no?

In case you are bored, look at the ending song of "Law Of Ueki" for Episode 1-15. Yeah, must be the uni influence that made me like anime again. But this song is really nice. Aiko Kayo can sing. Hehe. Full song go to here to listen to the whole song.

We are back again.

This post is also a.k.a

The Wit & Witless Part 2

6 Seroja interestingly is quite "united". Why I say that? It's because amidst the differences till we quarrel and the stress we throw on each other. It is fairly interesting to see and observe.

Once in a nice day, we have strange things happening, like the other day when Kean Sheng's car got smashed into a Milo tin...or the time when Li Qin would literally went speechless for a moment, while we thought she was going to burst out laughing and give out some remark like, "You call that CUTE??" but she did such an opposite thing even we got shocked ourselves.

Then of course, once in boring days, somebody would say something so out of the blue that the rest gasp for air because it is just too funny.

Adults can be quite humorous too. There's this "company" dinner that I went to and boy, the adults could really laugh and crack lame jokes such as...

Q:What is the squirrel's favorite food?
A: Pizza. Why? 755-tupai-tupai

or

Q:Which animal is the most stingy?
A: Horse. Why? When it runs, ke-de-kut, ke-de-kut...

Yeah.

But I'm not talking about adults right now. I'm talking about a bunch of people who were in 6 Seroja class 2005, where you really learn how to gasp for air.

For an instance, there was this time when Ooi Jin tricked my Bio project group that our formalin-preserved bugs were eaten by live bugs, he said it till we all believed it so much to the certain extend where Li Qin got so exasperated and then asked, "Are the [live] bugs cute?"

And then there was the time when Pn.Shirley was teaching and Siu Fai was either not paying attention or just plain sleeping, when we were talking about some stuff which she was thrilled about..so she said, "I'm thrilled to bits." All of us got the message except for Siu Fai who only started paying attention, then of all the things he said, he said, "Bits of what?"

Pn. Shirley has also a few funny things to say of her own. But those are usually stories. So, to protect discretion, shall not talk about it.

What else?

Truth is, there are many things said but only a few remembered.

For an instance, Sherry claims that I say the most weird things totally out of the blue, but I just cannot recall any of it.

Oh, Meng Yit and I were classmates loooong time ago in primary school in Standard 1 but after that we drifted so I had no idea how she looked like and such, I still didn't know who was she even after we were both in the same class in Form 6. One day we were just talking about our primary school days and I asked her, "So which school were you from?"She got so speechless.

Oh, then there is the famous "the brain is not a muscle" quote by Siu Fai. It's so famous that it is forever embeedded in the yearbook.

Oh then of course, one fine day, Siu Fai got so bored he decided to write a story about a banana.
Hello, my name is Banana Man. I transform into a super banana when I eat bananas. Bananas are yellow because no one likes a blue banana. Bananas come from shoots. Pandas like to eat bamboo shoots. If you shoot someone, he might die. Then you need to go to jail. People in jail wear uniforms that have black and white stripes, just a like a zebra. Zebras are funny animals, like Marty the zebra. They like to stay in boxes and ship themselves to Madagascar. Madagascar is somewhere in Africa. There are 7 continents in this world. The continents are separated by the sea. Many creatures live in the sea, like clams. Clams are soft creatures, with hard shells. A shell is an outer casing. People dont have outer casings so they wear clothes. Some people wear clothes like Elvis to show off their hairy chest. That same person teaches chemistry. I hate chemistry. STPM is coming. That is why I must study. When I study, I become hungry so I eat bananas. That is why I hate bananas. Cos I become Super Banana.

Exactly quoted.

While we were all browsing through a newspaper with a feature on wedding dresses, it was all very nice until Li Qin said to Sherry, "Sherry, I think you next time have to custom make your dress." (hint:because Sherry was short.) Sherry was like a fuming tomato.

Then I told Sherry about a dream I had about her with those Michael Buble type of guys singing, "Sherry....". Till today, the song is still stuck in my head. Disturbing really.

I miss Form 6 really. All because my class had the one group of people who says constructive things. Well, they did say that laughter is the best medicine.

Part 3? pictures.

Tag I'm It.

YES YES YES. I shall post Wit & Witless Part 2 later in the afternoon or whatever.

Rude Shocks

Dearest all my readers, Wit & Witless Part 2 will have to wait for another week because I have not yet gotten back my CD filled with pictures so as to post and thus further humor you all. So, please do not go away, I will be back next Friday with the post that will make your computer hang.

So this week, my feature topic would be about rude shocks...

Wait. Why am I sounding like some columnist, must tell you all what am I going to say all the time??

Anywayz.

There have been several shocks in my life where I call them rude.

Dictionary.com has mentioned that rude means discourteous. It could also mean harsh to the ear.

Then what is shock? Again, our trusty Dictionary.com describes shock as a sudden or violent disturbance to the mind, emotions and sensibilities

So what does rude shock means? It should quite fairly explains itself.

As I've said, I have encountered many rude shocks in my life..more so recently as my brain starts to dwindle and shrivel up like a pea pod. (readers: ha?)

Like for an instant, when I was in 2001, I had a rude shock...

-when watching the twin towers of World Trade Centre gets bomb and crashes to the ground like a deflated balloon...

when I was in 2003, I had a rude shock...

-that I was selected for National Service.

In 2004...

-the tsunami that killed uncountable number of people around Acheh, Sri Lanka, Penang, Phuket, and where else did I miss?

Then in 2005...

-what?! Chicken POX!
-what?! STPM is so near already??!!

Then in 2006...

-Steve Irwin dies.
-I had to have a nose surgery...

and of course, nobody knows this except a selected few...

-I saved CSF's phone number with one wrong digit! And I only found out about it 2 and 1/2 months later though we were keeping in touch all the time! Hahaha...no wonder he receiveth nothing of my messages. And I blamed DIGI for it. HAHA.

So, if anyone thinks I could be any more blurer than that, please check your phone number with me.

And yes, btw. Sherry, use del tags in the future instead of s for your strikethroughs. Apparently s is deprecated.

Edit: Thanks to Ooi Jin who is clearer in numbers than I am, I got chicken pox in 2004. Yeah, it's the same year I went for my NS and started Lower 6. Keep thinking late one year. Sigh. So, really, if you wonder why I don't keep in touch with you, maybe it's the number on my phone. :)
